Hello!

I have 2× C250 and 1× C450 cameras, and even though I configure the smart events (such as person detection or vehicle detection), when I check the NVR1008H‑8P’s own web interface, there is no other filter available besides motion detection during playback.
I tried checking this both locally and through the cloud-based VMS, but there are no smart event results there either.

I have reset both the cameras and the NVR, but it didn’t help.
In the NVR log I can see entries showing that a person or a vehicle was detected, but in the Events section only motion detection appears.

I found an earlier post from someone facing a similar issue, but there was no meaningful or acceptable answer:

This is exactly why I purchased this system—because I understood (and saw in many YouTube videos) that this is a “working” feature:

Yesterday I switched the access mode from cloud to VMS, and then in the mobile app a dashboard appeared, and under Notifications I could finally see what type of event occurred.
However, on PC it still does not work.

What makes this even more frustrating is that I also bought the NVR because I understood it can enable person and vehicle detection for third‑party cameras as well. Despite this, and even though my cameras (xmeye compatible) support these features on their own, it still doesn’t work.
Moreover, it damaged two of my cameras — via ONVIF the NVR tried to force some settings onto them, and I suspect this caused the watchdog to put the cameras into a continuous reboot loop, and unfortunately I couldn’t reset them anymore.

Hi  @Callmaster 

May I ask what is your network topology? Do you have any other cameras sinec it is mentioned that the NVR damaged two of your cameras.

If you can check the notifications of the smart events on the VIGI APP, so can you provide the screenshots on your playback page without other option except motion detection as event filter?

By the way, may I know the hardware and firmware of your VIGI devices?

Sure.
Yes, as I mentioned before, I previously had xmeye cameras (Hiseeu), and I also have Annke cameras. I’m using them alongside an Omada system, and even though there is a dedicated POE port, the cameras are connected through a separate VLAN on the SG2210P switch.

As far as I know, the cameras are running the latest firmware versions:

  • C450 FW: 2.2.1 Build 250926 Rel.52574n
  • 2× C350 FW: 2.2.1 Build 250926 Rel.52574n

A small change happened: yesterday, as I wrote, I reset the NVR, and when I checked it locally, the events started to appear. In the evening I added it back to the cloud, then configured the rules for which events should be monitored, and now in the cloud-based VIGI VMS under “Events”, it lists detections such as a person or a vehicle.

However, during playback in the “Videos” section, it still only shows motion detection. It was previously configured like this as well, but back then nothing showed up under events, so I don’t understand what changed.
