Facebook authentication on EAP-Controller Software: fetching failed!
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
Hello.
With the help of this forum i installed the eap-controller software on a raspberry pi 3.
But when i want to configure the authentication-type "facebook" i always get the error-message: fetching failed.
I made a new page in my facebook-account as it is described here:
https://static.tp-link.com/2017/201711/20171117/Configuration Guide for Facebook Portal (EAP Controller).pdf?configurationId=2960
I think, that all settings were done right.
Click on "Configuration" opens a new window, where i must login to my facebook-account. On the next page i choose my page and made some other settings. But when i finish this, the eap-controller won't get my facebook-page.
Does anyone know, if there is something else to do???
Thx,
maddinla

I think, that i have the latest versions on the EAP330 and the EAP Controller-Software.
As you can see in the picture from my first post, the EAP Controller-Software is 2.5.3 (Linux - on a Raspberry Pi 3) and here is the Version from the EAP330:
This is the newest Version i can find on TP-Link Downloadpage.
I tried the settings as you shown above, but without success: fetching failed again...

I'm using Omada Controller 2.6.0 for Windows, tried with different web browsers, but I always receive the same error.
I updated my EAP115 v2 to v 171011, the latest one available.
Is there any beta version available for testing purposes?
Cheers

That solved my problem!!! :)
Thanks...
I always use Firefox and tried to do the configuration-thing with MS Edge - and that's it...
Hope, that someone else has solutions for your problems...

I've just tried with Google Chrome 65.0.3325.162 (64-bit), Mozilla Firefox 57.0 (64-bit), Microsoft Edge 41.16299.248.0 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.309.16299.0, but I'm always getting the same error:
fetching failed.
What else have you done, Maddinla?

...nothing else.
Firefox 59.0.1 (64-bit) won't do it, but with Edge 41.16299.248.0 i can get my facebook-page.
Don't ask me why....
I suggest you can log in your facebook-account, when you click on "Configuration". And then??? Can you do the seetings as Carat1 mentioned?
I don't use facebook at all and only got this dummy-account to try facebook-authentication. Do you manage your facebook-setup like it is shown in that Configuration Guide from my first post??? Perhaps you haven't setup a real adress for your page?
....?

Hello maddinla!
Thanks for your reply!
First of all, I'm not a "Facebook heavy user", but the account I'm using has a everything right(address is correct, etc).
I've tried every single way, including yours and carat1's infos.
Is there any beta firmware or controller version available for testing?
Thanks

Sorry, i don't know, if there are test-versions...
But for me this authentication-method is not what i had hoped for. Thought that the facebook-names of the users are shown in the guest-list so i can block unknown users. Wanted to give free Wifi to friends/guests at home but not to people around my house...
For me this thread can be marked as "solved" but i don't know where to to this...
Maybe someone can fix your problem.

Hi @maddinla
I am getting the same issue. I already updated the firmware for the controller and APs, however is still failing.
APs Firmware
2.6.1 Build 20191022 Rel. 42463
Controller Firmware
1.2.1 Build 20191126 Rel.59455
Reviewing the browser's console I see the following warnings and errors:
[Deprecation] Synchronous XMLHttpRequest on the main thread is deprecated because of its detrimental effects to the end user's experience. For more help, check https://xhr.spec.whatwg.org/.
Do you know how can I apply the settings successfully?
Thank you!
