Easy Switch Default Gateway setting

Easy Switch units come with a default gateway field set to 0.0.0.0
Should I leave it at 0.0.0.0 or should that be change to my router's gateway IP? And why

You need to change the default gateway only if you want the switch to be able to reach external NTP servers for time synchronisation or if you want to access its web UI/CLI from within another subnet using forwarding/routing on a router the switch is connected to.

I looked through all the setting in the web UI and could not locate any evidence that these Easy Smart switches need or use time sync. I did not see any setting related to the NTP server which are otherwise typically found in a stnd router. Hence since I don't think that the Easy switch needs to reach out for NTP and the fact that I don't plan to login from a different subnet, I believe I should just leave the default gateway at 0.0.0.0 rather than assigning it to my router gateway.
