A question about the EAP Controller Software on Linux hosts: is the whole traffic of all APs routed thru the host, or is the host just handing out configuations to it's EAPs and has nothing to do with the clients traffic?Background of this question is: is the host required to have performance to handle all network traffic, or can this be a low-performance device running a Linux OS?

The Omada EAP Controller just controls EAPs, hence its name. Traffic does not pass through the controller.

In principle, yes, but since the Controller is based on Java and Java hogs the CPU quite much, low-performance systems are not recommended.How many EAPs do you want to control that you consider use of the Omada Controller?

maximum 10. I have another scenario where it could be up to 25, however there I have real servers available that could run the controller-software (so no performance issues)

I got it working on a Raspberry Pi (thanks to this guide: https://medium.com/@arthurgay/eap-controller-software-on-a-raspberry-pi-9e93ecd1672e ). Wasn't easy because TP-Link offers only x64 software which cannot run by itself on ARM architecture, however the solution in that guide works nice.Currently testing with two EAPs, no performance issues so far.
