You have to request a website to force the display of a login page as with any other wireless captive portal/hotspot, too. Modern operating systems on SmartPhones, tablets and even laptops do this automatically, but older OSes require the user to request a website in order to become redirected to the hotspot portal.

We did already

and then the page can't be show and a message apair

error, the connection to this accespoint can't open the page because there is no possibility to connect to the server

in french (Erreur lors de l'ouverture de la page La connexion à cette borne d'accès ne permet pas l'ouverture de la page car la connexion au serveur est impossible)

We tried with different verry modern devices:

iPhone X

Samsung Galaxy S7, A3, J5

MacBoock Pro with High Sierra

PC Laptop with Win 10 ...

I have a similar problem and I do not know what to do. Almost the same hardware: 3x EAP330 and 1x EAP225 with the latest HW.

With a reboot the portal works for the voucher code input, after a few minutes it will not find the page anymore. The OC200 is still online and accessible without any problems and all devices that were logged in have no connection break.

On the phone or other device comes only a message ("... could not be loaded, because: net :: ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED") that the page can not be called.

If I enter the address in a browser on the device an "forget" the port "8088", everything works fine.

Anyway, the issue is there, we are not supposed to manually reboot, ask users to type any adress  if we want to use the internals portals from Omada controler.

Question : Does the portal not supposed to be working even the controler is offline ?

indecision

Hello Pascal,

I tried v3.0.4 on my Linux server today and can confirm that Omada Controller version 3.0.4 introduces bugs not present in previous versions. It even renders the Omada Controller User Interface totally unuseable on some older browsers which are still in use by our customers and might be used by guests visiting a hotspot. I'll stick with previous version for now.

This is what I suspected.... !

We must hope now a fast response from TP-Link to resolve this,

as the Linux server can downgrade to previous version,

the OC200 CAN'T

I met some issues too with the FAST ROAMING options

users was sometime disconnected without raison or not able to reconnect.

3.0.4 seems to be a really bugy version, but give some good promesses of nice features options.

Yes, that's bad, indeed.

Situations like this are the reason why my community version of Omada Controller for Linux not only allows downgrades to any previous version, but even supports switching between versions on the fly. This is a must for software used on production systems!

Can we use your community version into an OC200 ?

Unfortunately, OC200 is not available here in Germany, so I couldn't get my hands on it yet and can't say what Linux system the OC200 is using and wether it would be possible to install other software on it.

What's more, we use our own AMD64-compatible WiFiGate micro server as a dedicated hardware controller running stock Debian with EAP/Omada Controller software since v2.5.3 already and we even did set up v2.7.0 running directly in the cloud as an alternative for customers who don't want to deploy own hardware. That's why I can't spend too much time experimenting with OC200 at the moment.

Do you have ssh or serial console access to the OC200? Can you find out which Linux it is running?
