EAP 245v3 and Chromecast on 5 Ghz, quality issues

Hello,

I have a customer who uses a EAP245v3 and Chromecast v2, which is 2.4 and 5 Ghz compatible.

The users stream from their pc, using chrome, for desktop or tab mirrorring.

They all have computers with resolution 1920 * 1080.

Before the EAP245v3, there was a TP Link WLR 8200 router, and all streaming, presenting, was sharp.

Chromecast was then connected to 2.4 Ghz network, or 5 Ghz.

Now, the tab and desktop mirroring is blurry, which is related to the network quality.

The Chromecast is now connected to 5 Ghz network.

If I connect it to a 2.4 Ghz network, the tab and desktop mirrorring does not even work, showing a black screen.

It's not related to the Chromecast, I tried another identical one, and the issue stays the same

The Chromecast is in 4 meter range of the EAP 245v3.

What I also notice, is the Chromecast disconnects about every 24 hour from the 5 Ghz network..

The DHCP server has a lease time of 8 days.

Does anyone has a clue what I need to set or change to have a good connection with the chromecast?

Hi,

The problem is as following, right?

  •  If the Chromecast is connected to 5G SSID of EAP245v3, the tab and desktop mirroring is blurry. If the  Chromecast is connected to 2.4G SSID of EAP245v3, then it shows a blcak screen.
  • The Chromecase will disconnect from EAP245v3 at every 24 hours.
  • You have changed another Chromecast, but the problem still exist.
  • The Chromecast work fine with the TL-Link Router, but it does not work well with EAP245v3. (I didn't find the WLR 8200 mode, would you mind give a correct name of this kind of Router?)

1. What's the version of EAP245v3? Do both PC and Chromecast connect to the SSID of EAP245v3? Do other wireless devices, such as laptop, mobile phone have the wireless problem when connect with the EAP245v3, or just the Chromecast have this problem?

2. You can try to change the Channel and Channel width of EAP245v3, check if it would get better.

Hi Jonas,

My remarks in red

Sorry, my mistake, it is a Sitecom WLR-8200 (https://www.sitecom.com/nl/ac1750-wi-fi-gigabit-router-x8/wlr-8200/p/1783)

Do other wireless devices, such as laptop, mobile phone have the wireless problem when connect with the EAP245v3, or just the Chromecast have this problem? 2.1.0 Build 20181107 Rel. 39421 , yes, no different SSID, nor SSID Isolation active. Chromecast is only device with this issue.

2. You can try to change the Channel and Channel width of EAP245v3, check if it would get better. What would you propose? Currently the 2.4 channel (channel 6,  b/g/n mixed

, 20 Mhz, TX Power High) and the 5Ghz channel (channel 44 , a/n/ac mixed, 20/40/80 Mhz, TX Power High)

Hi,

We have used Chromecast 2015 and Chromecast H2G2-42 to work with EAP245v3, and it works well. What's the model and software version of your Chromecast?

Is the topology of your network like this: Router---EAP245v3 ))))  Chromecast---PC, what's the model of your Router? It is better for you to provide the config file of EAP245v3, then we can check this issue again with your configuration.
