Firmware Version:

Hi

We have installed EAP 330 in our hotel . we have 17 floors and we installed 21 on each floor with POE switch for each floor. Before they were installed in corridors but due to low signal inside rooms we shifted them inside rooms.

We have 3 fiber connection from ISP each 200mbit speed.

We have divided the load thru mikrotic router.

We face problems of one or two EAP 330 going offline with no wifi signal on each floor everyday under clients load. then we restart switch to get them back online.

kindly give us some help so that they work fine as we are facing problems with these AP,s.

thanks.

Hi alhassgrp,

I would like to first ask a few questions:
1, the firmware hardware version running on the EAP330

2, the version of the Omada Controller.

3, is the EAP330 powered via POE switches? how many EAP330 are connected to that switch, what's the POE budget of the switch.

4, does it happen to only one or two particular APs or there's no clear pattern on which AP would go off?

Channel mapping is critical in a large network like yours, do check on that please.

Ethernet cable quality is another factor, replace the Ethernet cable for the APs that are having this issue.

Hi

Thanks for reply.

1. Aps having Firmware Version 1.1.2 Build 20170711 Rel. 51586(4555).

2. Controller version not available year before.

3. EAP330 powered via POE switches?

Year before they were half on POE and half on Power Adaptors.

In start we have CISCO SG300-28PP GBIT  21 Aps in these ports each floor. same problem occuring randomly on each floor every day. working after switch reset.

4. Now we installed TRENDNET TPE-5048WS 52 PORTS , still need to restart floor switch.

5. Cables were all check and are ok. Cat6.

Randomly any one or two Aps go offline or all floor is out of net.

From each floor there is fiber link to the Main Router.

thanks

Hi @Genius8088 ,

i have a fairly similar problem.

I have a couple of EAP330 which randomly “crashes”.

When they “crash” they obviously do not transmit any WiFi signal.

After the “crash” they recover, and are listed in the Omada Controller as “Provisioning” or “Configuring” for a few seconds and go back to normal.

I guess they are rebooting?

Anyway this only happened to my knowledge to EAP330, not to our EAP245 or EAP-110 Outdoor.

The EAP245 are connected to the same switch then the EAP330.

Firmware version is 1.4.0 Build 20180925 Rel. 37155

HW Version is 2.0

Omada is 3.2.1 (on Windows)

Alcatel OmiSwitch with PoE with “max PoE power assigned”.
