Model: EAP245
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 2.1.0

Hello tp-link community!

I am located in Germany, have recently installed a 2x EAP245 V3 setup, and am having issues with 5GHz channel selection.

To the best of my understanding, in Germany (and the EU in general), 5GHz channels 36-64 and 100-140 should be avaliable.

Unfortunately, only channels 36-48 are shown as selectable.

As I am attempting to configure 2x 80MHz wide 802.11ac channels, I need access to both channels 42 and 58 to avoid overlap.

There is no need to wory about neighbors here; the access points are being configured in a section of industrial land with no neighbors.

Any assistance helping me find the correct setting to allow channel 58 to be used would be greatly appreciated!

@outlw

We have addes DFS channels on the latest firmware of EAP245 V3.0 (20190731). Please upgrade your firmware to the latest version.

We have the plan to add mesh and we are trying to do this. When we add it, we will release it in the offical website.

Thank you for the reply!

I was under the impression that channels 36-68 had no regulations for indoor ussage; therfor allowing 2x 80MHz channels to coexist.

I could have sworn as well, that the Omada Controller had some DFS settings already intigrated as well...

Well, this news is quite dissapointing.

I really do hope that the tp-link firmware team rectifies this issue quickly; else these AP's are pretty much useless in environemnts where high bandwidth connections are necessary.

Since the AP's are already installed, I guess there is not much to do other than wait for an update...

Just performed the 2.2.0 upgrade on my EAP245's.

The DFS channels are still not avaliable and, as far as I can tell, the Mesh functionallity has also not been added.

Has anyone heard when these functions are scheduled to be enabled?

I find it quite unsatisfactory that the EAP245 is missing these features, while the lower end EAP225 has had them for several months.
