Model: T1700X-16TS
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.0.0

Please update the firmware of this switch to support 802.3bz 2.5gbps ethernet connectivity.

I just paid about $1500 for this 10gbe switch to discover it doesn't support 2.5gbps and there hasn't been a firmware update in over a year.

I'm a bit disappointed, I've got 6 2.5gbps ethernet devices I was hoping to use with this switch, I might have to return it for a refund.

Is there any chance TP-Link will release an update?

No, 2.5gbps shoud have hardware chipset support. It is not related to software (firmware). It is common situation, that devices with 10Gbps doesn't support 2,5gbps or 5gbps.

For anyone else looking to add 2.5 and 5GBe support to the T1700X-16TS, I have found a solution.

The MicroTik SFP+ "S+RJ10: RJ45 SFP+ 10/100/1000M/2.5G/5G/10G copper module"

I'm using one of these in the SFP+ port closest to the T1700X-16TS fans without any problems.

Getting > 248MB a second transfer speed from my desktop to NAS using a CLUB-3D 2.5GBe USB Ethernet adapter on the desktop and of course the NAS is connected to the switch via 10GBe SFP+
