Model: TL-ER6120
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Is it possible to configure the device so that virtual servers in the LAN can receive traffic from both WAN interfaces? Right now is only routes traffic from the active WAN, while any traffic incoming from the backup WAN does not get through.

If you have two WAN ports, you can set up virtual server for both WAN. It means that you can access the internal server thorugh both WAN ports. If you also set up link backup, then please note that backup link will be down when primary link is working.

That's the thing, if I setup Link Backup the router disconnects from that backup WAN. Why does it do that? It seems to me it is counter-intuitive, but I'm no expert. Anyway, what would it be the proper way to have it setup then? No Link Backup configured? I know that if I do that, the outgoing traffic will go randomly to both WAN ports. So I've setup Policy Routing with only one entry, saying all the traffic to go all the time to WAN 1 (primary WAN). After that everything seems to be working, meaning, if WAN 1 fails, all the traffic will go to WAN 2 (don't know why but OK), and all incoming traffic from both WANs is reaching the internal servers. So I guess I figure it out, but is that the way it is supposed to be configured? Thank you for your answers.

The backup link means that it will be only used when primary link down. So if you want to access the server through the backup link as well, then you can disable link backup and use policy routing. So I think your current settings are right.
