Connecting EAP225 to EAP245 Root AP

Model: EAP245

Hardware Version: V3

Firmware Version: 2.3.0 Build 20190731 Rel. 51932

Do I need a hard wired EAP225 as a Root Access Point so that I can access the mesh capabilities of a separate EAP225 AP, or can I configure an EAP 225 to talk to a hardwired EAP 245?
