Hi, we are seeking for information on how to restrict users that are connected to the devices using another hotspot.

 

Like for example we created a wireless solution with voucher guest control. Users are given a single use voucher to use in their mobile (android) and he is sharing the connection thru his mobile by enabling the Hotspot/mobile tethering.

 

We want to prevent this.

 

I hope the the issue above is clear and waiting for somebody to help.

Generally one cannot use hotspot/ mobile tethering while conected to wifi. it's either or. The wireless connection will be discontinued as soon as the user turns on hotspot. Therefore, the voucher should be good for only one device at a time.

@zer0no1 I am going with MikeRoy1 here. While you are connected with a hotspot it is not possible for mobile devices to share the connection with another one. Cause it is either connected with one wifi hotspot or giving a hotspot itself.

@zer0no1 I can fully agree to what RailRecipe has said. There's no option for anyone else than you to change the wifi Passwort from a mobile device

@zer0no1 It's not possible to share your Wi-Fi hotspot while connected to one, however, it is possible to use another AP or a router that has a repeat feature to do the same thing.
