Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.3 Build 20200430 Rel.52621

I have been notified on my cloud controller of a new firmware update "1.7.0 Build 20200703 Rel.59609", I can't find the update or any release notes on the tplink website.

Does anyone know what the update is?

For information I only run two AP's currently:

EAP225(EU) 3.0 - 2.7.0 Build 20200113 Rel. 38287

EAP225-Outdoor(EU) 1.0 - 1.7.0 Build 20200113 Rel. 35383

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,

James

@JD792 You should be able to download 1.7.0 through your controller.  If you're running an OC200 be aware the AP's are not automatically updating so make sure you have their firmware before you upgarde the OC200.

Thank you. I have it downloaded via the controller but no release notes as to whats included in the update. I'll probably leave it till it's showing on the tplink website. Thank you for advising the AP firmware I'll be sure to manually download their firmware before I upgrade. Do you know if all config is kept after the update? I'll be taking a backup anyway just in case.

Yes the config is kept except. Backup is part of the upgrade. You'll have to restore the backup after the firmware update.

@JFND

i did backup before upgrading but ended up my backup config is not compatible with the latest firmware. also, my AP is not compatible with the latest controller. and my AP doesn't have an update to make it compatible with the latest controller.

@hashrack

You have to download the AP-Firmware with official Omada Controller 4.1.4+ Support and flash the APs manually after the 1.7.0 Firmware for OC200 is deployed.
