I believe it is for the Omada Routers which are not available yet.

@vitor_a Same question. I already own a Omada Router (TL-R605) but I am not able to use Speed Test in Omada SDN. Only result I can see is a running Speed Test which does not finish successfully.

Nice!

What is neccessary to use this function?

@vitor_a I also have the TL-R605. I have been able to get the speedtest to work before, but with the most recent update to the TL-R605, it is now sporadic at best. If I reboot the gateway, it seems to work once, but after that it is a no-go and I am not about to reboot my gateway every time I want a speed test.

It appears as though the speed test is happening, but it isn't taking the numbers generated and placing them into the correct place to be recognized. I say this because as I was testing this morning, I noticed my traffic on my Gateway would reflect the speedtest, but it would still error out.

No one was at my house so I know this traffic is from the speed tests I initiated. So it appears the speed test happens, but the speeds aren't being recorded properly.

I wish there was a log I could look at to further identify the problem.

I was able to find out how to download the log. Here are the log lines about the speed test.

2021-05-30 00:43:05 [comm-pool-15] [WARN]-[SourceFile:920] - send speed test config to (DEVICE MAC ADDRESS HIDDEN FOR SECURITY) failed

2021-05-30 00:43:14 [scheduled-pool-8] [WARN]-[SourceFile:175] - Speed test result is null for Default

@DRomney where did you find these? I was looking for them as well.

@Hertog_Jan Settings (The gear in the bottom left)> Services>Export Data

Then you export the running log.

If you are logged into the controller directly, you have access to more than just the running log, but the running log is what you need and can be accessed via the Omada online access.

@DRomney cool, thanks for that!

By the way, TP-Link support did a remote session today to see why these statistics don't work as they should. I'm positively surprised that they'd go through the effort and it gives me good hopes for having the issue fixed!

Cool, when I had issues with my system (turned out to be the modem) they were pretty responsive trying to help me figure out the problem.

I don't know what TP-Link did, as I didn't see any update come out, but the speed test seems to be working now. I have my system set up to automatically check the speed periodically. As of the morning of the 13th it has run 3 successfull speed test checks.
