When looking at clients, I'd rather have the hostname column instead of the username, as this is the field that will identify the end point by name. Having a MAC address show up on the list does nothing for me and forces me to have to select a device in order to see this information instead of at a glance. Same with sorting, when doing this and sorting by username it will show all the devices w/o a username first.

I believe this should be an easy thing to program and there's plenty of room to have both fields. I know you can add an alias to the username, but the settings don't stick and after a day or two, the alias reverts to blank again.

Another thing I would love to see is the actual user connected via radius authentication. Had this on the Aruba APs we replaced, and it would show every user connected via Radius with their AD credential name they used to connect. This one is more than a want rather than a need, but it would be nice since it acurately show actual AD users connected to the every AP in the enterprise.

Thanks,

Why don't you just turn it on? BTW, the username/hostname is what the device sends as its WiFi hostname. If it does not send a hostname, you can define an alias for this end point as shown in following screenshot:

@R1D2

Dang. Thanks for posting this. I was able to add this column. I had failed to see that you customize this via Action.

PS: Regarding alias, this seems to be temporary. I've tweaked it for several nodes but it keeps resetting itself to a blank field after a day or two. Couild be a bug. I would like to be able to do this just once.

Thanks again!

Hi Sorcerer, can't second that (temporary alias) after another new association with the SSID, but will check again tomorrow.

BTW, it's not the »Action« field for customization of the columns, but kind of preferences (three vertical dots). Action is another column where you can block a client or force it to reconnect. IMO the column preferences pop-up menu could be labeled somewhat better, e.g. with a gear or wrench symbol.
