Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

The EAN225 outdoor has good coverage in the yard. However we have a steel shipping container where we need to go in and count inventory with handheld wireless terminal. There is no wifi inside. I do have power nearby and was hoping to put another wifi antenna facing the container doorway. No possibility of running cable. What type of device can connect wirelessly to the EAN225 Outdoor and relay the signal in the door of the container?

@JoyriderBC, a second EAP225-Outdoor in mesh node can wirelessly link to the existing EAP225-Outdoor if the distance isn't too large (50-100m) and if there is a free line of sight. From this second EAP you can run a cable into the container.

@R1D2 Instead of mesh, can I use a Repeater of some sort? Cable is not an option.

Mesh is a »repeater of some sort«, except that a mesh avoids almost all issues you will run into when using a consumer-grade repeater. Note that in business applications repeaters play no role at all due to their huge disadvantages such as the Hidden Node Problem, use of the same wireless channel, etc.

If you have a faraday cage such as a steel box, the only way to get RF waves into it is by cable. That's the reason why cars have an antenna outside which is connected by cable to the mobile phone.

Long story short: I do not recommend a repeater.
