Implemented mDNS Service
Hello I was wondering in Omada where I can find the mDNS service ?
I have a TL-R605 router but some IoT devices (especially the once that use Apple HomeKit) do not work or better are unreachable when I put them in a different subnet using VLANs, this is very annoying.
Looking on internet everyone many tutorial (all made on Ubiquiti or sometimes other routers) explain that mDNS repeater is needed, but can't find it in Omada anywhere.
Or eventually is there a workaround or non explicit way to have this done ?
Thanks

@Xstreem Is asked TP-Link about it. Here's their answer:
Thank you for your support request.
Please note the TL-ER7206 does not support mDNS.
Our B2B department informed us that there are no Omada models which has support for mDNS.
Currently there are also no plans for this function.

So that's a big bummer

@ElStupid this is ridiculous. Will never buy other tplink products, so damned angry that i spent money to make my system with Omada.

@Xstreem It's not being said they won't ever implement it.
But I'm very disappointed either. Nowadays mDNS should be on prosumer appliances for sure!

I would like to see mDNS implemented as well.

Would be nice. I asked them to forward it to their marketing department.Maybe some day, fingers crossed,
We have sent your idea to our R&D as a wishlist.
Please keep in mind we cannot say if this will be added and if possible when it will be added.

@Xstreem was literally on the verge of ordering an entire replacement for my home network before I came across this thread.
As the whole point of upgrading my setup was to implement VLAN / IoT device isolation I'm a bit bummed out by this. Has delayed my purchase.

@LinkFrog well don't do it. System is absolutely not professional, full of bugs or limited/missing functionalities. VLAN they just copied Ubiquiti which was an horrible unnatural system, and they instead of making their own, just copied a bad system.
Several times me and other users have reported bugs or things to implement and in 8 months they simply haven't done nothing.
Technical support is not existing, here on the forum you need to pray to get an answer.
Upgrades of the SDN software when happen are completely bullshits, you just look into the release note excited to find new functionalities, improvements, new features and bug fixes and instead you find just ridiculous stuff.
Just imagine that with VPN you cannot see who is connected or Poe Schedule cannot be settled over midnight so you need to make to schedule one to midnight and the other one from midnight, but amazingly at midnight the EAP disconnect. Just a couple of examples as I don't want to use this post to relist all the bad things of this system.
It's intended for business use, it's just an amateur tentative...
Money are gone, my fault I trusted this company

Received this response this morning
For the current firmware version, we do not have this function. Yet, we have considered adding this function. It is under development. I am sorry that I cannot guarantee you the exact date about when it will be available. It will be soon.
Which is an improvement in the last three weeks from @ElStupid's initial contact of
Currently there are also no plans for this function.
And his later contact of two weeks ago to say they are thinking about it

So at least compared to Ubiquiti it seems that TP-Link have people who listen. Hopefully under development means a drop soon.

Positive news, I like that. Let's wait and see. Maybe more people should send a signal and ask to implement things.
Apart from that, I'm quite happy with my setup (router, controller, PoE switch, EAP's)
