Hello,

I have built a test bench with FreeBSD box as pptp-server based on mpd5 daemon and TL-R605 as pptp-client.
Everything works fine but, when I stops mpd5 daemon on FreeBSD it sends a command to destroy pptp connection
to TL-R605 and then after receiving such command router's pptp-client dies and it doesn't try to reconnect back to pptp-server anymore.
Only router rebooting can restore pptp-session, but if it installed somewhere in the far away it'll get hard to reboot it.
I guess it's not a right behavior for automated systems.
In any case pptp-client on TL-R605 should keep trying to reconnect to pptp-server until pptp-client will be disabled in router's configuration.
Is it possible to change a firmware of TL-R605 to fix this important function.

Hi @Virgo !

 

On the contrary. I started with stock firmware and gradually upgrade firmware to the latest version. This problem exists in all versions.

Is this a correct place to find a real tp-link masters who can help to fix a big pptp-client problem?

Yes I have the same problem with L2TP and PPTP even VPN user account is corrupted and I have to recreate this after a router boot or controller restart. sometime I have to recreate PPTP Server and L2TP server to.

 

so highly unstable.

 

 

this happened on ER605 and ER7206 in controller mode. less problem in stand alone mode.

 

with the newest firmware (1.1.1) on ER7206 is no differences.
