Model: ER7206 (TL-ER7206)
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hello everyone,

My TL-ER7206 slows my connection 1/10. The weird thing is that it only happens with desktop/laptop computers and speeds on mobile are normal.

My normal speed download and upload are around 90Mbps. When I'm connected to the ER7206 my download becomes 4Mbps and 60Mbps upload.

Again, this problem only occurs on my laptops (two different laptops) with both wired and wireless connections connected to the same AP as the mobile device which gets normal speeds.

I have tried disabling the firewall settings, no go.

My set up is as follows:

2 WAN and 2 LAN connections.

Also tried doing a route policy where each LAN has a dedicated WAN, still no go.

I also tried disabling the load balancing feature, still no go.

I completely reset the load balancer and only have one WAN and one LAN connected. WAN is connected to the internet via PPPoE.

No go, still the same issue, internet is very slow on laptops in both wired and wireless connection but fast using a mobile device connected on the same AP as the laptop.

I didn't have this problem with my AX73 router. I think it has to do with one of the features/settings of ER7206 that is messing things up.

Help?

@c0ntrite7

Hey buddy,

As you have 2 WAN connections, what is the bandwidth of each WAN? Maybe the packets of your desktop/laptop are forwarded to the WAN with less bandwidth?

I suggest you unplug the WAN connection with less bandwidth and test speed again.

The quality of the Ethernet cable will also affect the wired speed. You can try CAT6 or CAT7 cable.
