EAP110 outdoor frequent connection drops / no SSID broadcasted anymore
EAP110 outdoor frequent connection drops / no SSID broadcasted anymore
I have 4 EAP110 together with Omada Controller.
A few times a day my smartphone suddenly has either no connection anymore or it connects with a very weak signal to another AP located further away. When opening Wifi result page of my smartphone, I don't see any networks for quite some time. It is definitely not a problem with the smartphone, because also another phone right beside has the same problem.
It seems the EAP hangs for a few seconds and thus leading to no connection at all. Before I had EAP 110 outdoor v1 and EAP115 and both worked flawlessly, without any interventions.
Since EAP 110 outdoor I have massive problems. I've tried a lot, like rebooting, changing beacon interval (which lead to frequent reboots of the EAPs), enabling fast roaming and so on. But nothing helped. Problem still persists and I'm quite desperate now. I was a huge fan of TP Link EAPs due to its price and quality, but something seems to be wrong with EAP 110 outdoor.
In the LAN details I see on all APs Rx Dropped Packets, which is quite confusing, because shortest cable length is 3 Meters and all other network devices have no problem. Also the EAPs are connected to the same LAN cables like the working older EAPs were before. I suppose that when EAP has this glitches, when no SSIDs are broadcasted it also drops Rx packets.
Hope you can help me. I'd really like to have a reliable WiFi again.

Problem is still unresolved. Until a final solution I suggest not buying EAP 110 outdoor v3. In makes a lot of trouble.

Problem sadly still exits. Connection loss is less, but after a few days some devices don't get a connection anymore and EAP has to be rebooted.
Still can't recommend EAP 110-outdoor.

I gained serial access and even without LAN connected to the PoE-Injector device, there were multiple resets. So even device couldn't transmit any data to stations there were resets. So I really can't recommend EAP110 Outdoor v3 at current state.

One of the EAP110v3 Outdoor is now replaced by a CPE210 with OpenWRT to have the same number of SSIDs and VLANs (TP-Link Firmware supports only 4 SSIDs, CPE210 can up to 8, like EAP110v3) and now all other EAP110v3 have less connection losses. It seems EAP110v3 disturb themselves / make their own interferences.

TP-Link stopped answering my E-Mails. Please don't use EAP110. It may be OK for home users, but since this is a business product, I expect business features, but they
don't really work. Especially mdns/multicast traffic crossing VLAN boundaries is a no-go, see https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/520186
I'm done with EAP110v3 outdoor and using now WR802n with OpenWRT which is even more energy efficient. There everything works as expected.
