Model: TL-SG2428P
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I can see there is hardware version V1 and V2 on the hardware of TL-SG2428P. I asked the supplier that if it is V1 or V2 they thought it was V2 but i received V1. So i don't want to buy new hardware that is detected as "old" so how can we know what version we are buying since it's not posted in the Versions of the vendors on their web pages ?

And what is the difference of V1 and V2? Im located in Sweden and it does exist on the SE page: https://www.tp-link.com/se/support/download/tl-sg2428p/v2/
Will this product reach EOL before the v2? i do think so.
But i can also see the V2 is not sold in every region though it's advertised so over the webpage i posted so maybe it's only a miscommunication between what is released and advertised?

Thanks,

@HA4g3n

There just some small differences between V1 and V2. Here is what I found on datasheet.

Don't worry, as far as I can tell, they are pretty much the same, and both hardware version supports SDN Controller.

@Virgo Thank you :)
Yeah, but feels a bit awkward when there is a newer hardware listed.
But i do think that the v2 does not even exist in Sweden. But it's hard to detect and know if the hardware is old or not i think.
You cannot even see when some switches are released by year or version when buying.

@HA4g3n

I checked the warranty policy on SE, so this Switch should enjoy at least 5 years warranty. And from EN website, seems the TL-SG2428P V1 was released last year and V2 was released this year?

Anyway, there is nothing you need to over concern about it. Hope what I find can give you a sense of relief.
