Hi,

i have ISP modem.

i want to plug the ER605 to the isp modem and plug the EAP to the ER605 for the firewall function.

i plug the ER605 port 5 LAN to my modem ISP Lan port.

i then plug EAP660 to ER605 Port 4, but it's not working.

How do I make EAP work with ER605?

Thanks !

@NewOmadaUser

No no no. It does not work like that. This is a router. You have to plug the 1st port of the ER605 to your modem.

The dedicated WAN port should be plugged into the modem LAN port. Though this is causing a double NAT. But, this is the correct connection.

Not LAN to LAN. For the rest 3 ports, WAN/LAN inter-changeable ports, you can set them to be WAN or LAN. Up to you.

#5 port, LAN, that's for your EAP

@John1234 hi, I have done exactly what you are suggesting:
ER605 WAN port to ISP Modem LAN port
ER605 LAN port to Switch TL-SG3428 port 1
ER605 WAN Dynamic

ER605 LAN new DHCP range 192.168.10.1
result no internet
Any thoughts? any help appreciated, it's been driving me nuts.
cheers

@vistisoara

Can you confirm your modem has Internet? WAN=dynamic, do you get IP from the WAN status page? This is simply no Internet connection from WAN. You plug things right.

Possible causes:

The wrong connection type can lead to this. Do you confirm your connection type and Internet details with your ISP? Suggest you contact ISP. This is not an issue with the router or switch. And, you gotta make sure you did not have any other configs set wrong on switch or EAP.
