I recently added a wired internet connection to my ER605 and made it my main WAN, leaving my cellular LTE modem as a backup.
 

I've set up the Link Backup so that If my main WAN fails, the LTE kicks in...every so often my internet speed seems to slow down and when I check the Online Detection it was that my main WAN is offline and I'm back on the cellular modem. However when I connect directly to the ISP modem, it seems to be working alright.

 

the only way I'm able to use my main WAN is if I select the Always Online mode but that defeats the purpose of having a failover backup.
 

Am I doing something wrong here?

Is linked backup function enabled? (Maybe only enable the Load balancing.)

It is better to use the speedtest website to measure the slow speed.

@Virgo yes i enabled it and the load balancing option also. It's works well when I'm on my computer which is connected via lan to the ER605. However I find the issue more prevalent when I'm on the wifi via Archer C64 which is also connected via LAN to the ER605. 

 

in anycase I've just upgraded both firmwares so i hope that solves any issues.

Try Online Detection--Manual, put in 8.8.8.8 as Ping and DNS Lookup address. It improves detection speed on my router, hope it also good for you.
