Hi,

I've got the EAP660HD already at my place (I think this is most powerful EAP in the line up) and works great. I am considering buying the EAP615-Wall vs the EAP265 HD for the less used areas. I went through the technical specification multiple times but couldn't find any info about the

chipset/cpu/ram on both models.

Does anyone know what is inside of them?

@chrisro

I only have this link for you at this moment. So, the naming system, EAP615-Outdoor vs EAP225-Outdoor? 225's better. 6 is WIFI6, but. it ends with 15. 15 is worse than 25. So, theoretically speaking, you pick up 265 since it is 65. Better than 15.

BTW, WIFI6 is the future. But, from my personal perspective, WIFI5 will still last a long period.

Hi @John1234

thanks for the response. The EAP615-Wall and the EAP265 HD are both indoor solutions. Just to make sure we are on the same page, those are the products I was asking about:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/business-networking/omada-sdn-access-point/eap615-wall/

https://www.tp-link.com/en/business-networking/omada-sdn-access-point/eap265-hd/

I have read somewhere over here that the "wall" series are more designed for hotels and spaces were frequent roaming is not happening that often and the range can be limited to a smaller area (i.e. hotel room / corridor ). Having that in mind I think I will go with the 2xx series as they are more designed for SOHO usage with mesh support.

Would be great if TP-Link added to their technical spec what chipset/cpu/ram they are using for specific units. For example apparently 265-HD is same hardware as the 245 (only difference is software support).

@chrisro

Yeah. You're right. Wall models are for small hotel rooms. From the specs on their site, HD=hight density, which means it is made for scenarios like malls or markets. HD models can handle more clients at one time.

About the chipset, I am afraid that they won't provide any details. You can search on Google somewhere. I tried getting info about the chipsets, they refused to provide details since that kinda sensitive to them.
