Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.0.5

Hello,

On the Canada support page for the EAP225 v3, it shows new firmware:

https://www.tp-link.com/ca/support/download/eap225/v3/#Firmware

EAP225(US)_V3_5.0.7 Build 20211026

Download
Published Date: 2022-01-11

Omada does not see this and when I try to manually upgrade to it, it fails.

Note there's a difference in the name of the older 5.0.5 firmware I'm currently running:

EAP225(CA)_V3_5.0.5 Build 20210618

Download
Published Date: 2021-08-13

"CA".

My model listed in Omada is:

EAP225(Canada) v3.0[Custom]

The release notes for 5.0.5 indicate:

"1. For EAP225(CA) v3 only.

2. Follow IC certification in Canada, can't downgrade to US/EU version any more if upgrade this firmware."

https://static.tp-link.com/upload/firmware/2021/202108/20210813/EAP225(CA)%20v3%205.0.5%20release%20note.pdf

Has the US firmware been put on the Canadian support page? Is this why I can't upgrade?

@Fraoch

Don't upgrade your EAP with the wrong firmware. CA is made for CA. You should wait for the TP-LINK to change this minor error on their site. You should upgrade according to your country.

My EAP and Omada are not allowing it. Both methods fail.

Then I noticed the difference.

@Fraoch

EAP225(Canada) v3.0[Custom] with 5.0.5 CA firmware. You should wait for the CA firmware released on the site and update with that one.

Should be 5.0.7(CA)XXXXX

Don't try the 5.0.7(US). You cannot upgrade with that and that will cause issues with WiFi.
