EAP620 HD V2 (EU) - disable SSID Broadcast feature doesn't work
Hi,
I use two EAP620HD v2.0 (EU) (firmware: 1.0.2 Build 20211025 Rel. 45439). When I want to create a wireless network with a hidden SSID, unchecking the 'SSID Broadcast' option doesn't work. My EAPs are connected and being controlled by the OC200 controller (firmware: 1.14.3 Build 20220112 Rel.64116).

Wow - I thought it would be some caching or whatever issue - but I can confirm this on my set up:
I have the following setup:
- Linux Software Controller 5.0.30
- EAP615-Wall(EU) v1.0 FW: 1.0.2 Build 20210823 Rel. 3585
- EAP620 HD(EU) v1.0 FW: 1.1.0 Build 20211028 Rel. 68287 (root-mesh-ap)
- EAP225-Outdoor(EU) v1.0 FW: 5.0.5 Build 20210604 Rel. 51118
I have 3 SSID configured, 2 Public 1 hidden. But the hidden one shows up on my mobile devices, without them having its password stored or cached or whatever.

Your current problem, which we have previously located as a known issue, do you require a Beta software to fix it urgently?
If so, we can help you request Beta software.
Or you can of course also wait for the official new firmware release later.

@Hank21 @Fae
I'm having this issue with EAP620 HD(US)_V1_1.1.0 Build 20211028 (both in Standalone Mode and with various versions of Omada Controller).
This post: https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/517332 only contains the beta firmware for EAP 620 v2.
Could you please also update EAP620 v1 and fix this?
I found out that disabling SSID Broadcast does indeed work with clients that haven't yet entered the local network.
But if you have multiple "hidden SSIDs", as soon as your enter the credentials for one SSID, all the orther "hidden SSIDs" automatically became visible to the client.
I don't know if this is the intended behavior, but if that's the case, I would like to have an option to hide all SSIDs regardless of the client already being connected to the access point.

The issue with the hidden SSID not working has been pinpointed by TP-Link support as a known issue and they will address it with an optimisation in the next version of the firmware.
Your problem is somewhat different from the one mentioned above, the problem is most likely related to your client devices selection and is most likely caused by this known issue.
If you are in a hurry, we can help you apply for a Beta firmware version, or you can keep an eye on our website and wait for the next firmware release of the EAP620 V1.
Best Regards!
