Manual setting for Internet speed as Speedtest is unreliable.
Manual setting for Internet speed as Speedtest is unreliable.
Hi All,
Stil the speedtest is unreliable. I have a 1gb/1gb line where I also REALLY get 940/940.
But the speedtest gives me 538/538 max which is incorrect.
I asked already since day 1 to correct this but it is still not done.
Can you please take a look and fix the error or at least let ME set the linespeed.

@jandico could you please tell me how did you get the real speed? Did you use the ookla speed test tools? And one thing I wan to tell you is the reason why you got different speed every time. There are many speed test nodes in the net. It may be the different node when we test the speed. And the traffic states of the net also affects to the result of our tests. So it seems like random results if you test for many times.

I used to configs (see picture)
Config 1 to test the internetspeed without any other components.
Config 2 to test the internet speed via the ER7206 Router on my Imac. The Omada speedtest was executed direct afyer the Imac speed test.
For Gb Internet you can not rely on web-based "speedtest.net" but need to install the dedicated speedtest app available on the site.
It is my assumption that Omada is also using the web-based speedtest in stead of utilizing a dedicated speedtest app in the router as if i use the web-based speedtest i get simular unpredictable results.
Config 1 result is 950-975Mb/s
Config 2 result is 875-920Mb/s on the Imac
Config 2 result on omada 250Mb-720Mb/s
Is this where yoiu are looking for?
