Multi-network, isolated VLAN support in Omada Controller with only ER7206

Model: ER7206 (TL-ER7206)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0

Hi,

Following up with a suggestion after an extended support thread (https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/538452):

Background

It is currently possible to use the Omada Controller for multi-network, isolated VLANs with an ER7206 and TP-Link switches:

How to configure Multi-Networks & Multi-SSIDs on Omada SDN Controller

It is also possible to use the standalone ER7206 interface to configure multi-network, isolated VLANs with an ER7206 without TP-Link switches:

How to create multi networks and manage network behavior with ACL on Omada Gateway in standalone mode?

Request

However, it is not possible to use the Omada Controller to configure multi-network, isolated VLANs with an ER7206 without TP-Link switches.  The Switch ACLs in the Omada Controller do not appear to apply to the ER7206.

As per suggestion from @Hank21 from TP-Link, I am filing a request/suggestion here.

Would be helpful to get a confirmation that this feature is in the pipeline and an ETA on it.

Thank you,

G

Thank you very much for your feedback.

First of all, there is one thing to note: the Switch ACLs feature is for switches only, not for gateway.

Based on your detailed description, we can conclude that your requirement is that the gateway does not support VLAN isolation via ACLs in controller mode.

Your feedback has been received by TP-LINK support and they are now working on optimising and adding the functionality in the later firmware version, please be patient and keep an eye on the TP-LINK website.

Best Regards!
