Accepted Add local DNS server to ER605
Please add a local DNS server, like dnsmasq, to the ER605. It's a bug for a business router that's running DHCP to not be able to resolve local host names.

For what its worth... I have been in touch with tp-link support trying to resolve this DNS issue along with LDAP issues so we can get VPN working properly on our ER605's
I do not work for tp-link I am merely passing on information here because they don't seem to be updating us.
When asked about the DNS they said:
--Unfortunately, the built-in DNS server is not yet supported, but it has been fed back to PM and R&D for optimization. DNS resolution will be forwarded according to the DNS settings of the default gateway. Generally, it is sent to the public DNS Server or resolved according to the cache.
When I asked when DNS will be implemented they said:
--Sorry, it won't be until November at the earliest.
Not good enough but at least there is some hope I guess.

It's unfortunate but this probably reflects many user's opinion right now. TP-Link had some really cool thing going with Omada and there was glimpse of hope for us users to be part of something special. Sadly, now many eyes have been opened to see while the idea is great the follow through is mediocre. It's not only the DNS issue, but also Omada hardware controller don't get updated, basic VLAN issues and basic Wifi issues just add to the whole bad after taste that this is just not ready and due to a lack of TP-Link's attention maybe never will be.
I am as @jd001 at the decision point if I want some more pain in my life or I just go with something that works even if I have to pay a few dollars more ...
