Accepted Add local DNS server to ER605
Please add a local DNS server, like dnsmasq, to the ER605. It's a bug for a business router that's running DHCP to not be able to resolve local host names.

@jd001 good for you!
A solution can always be to replace the ER605 with some other router or gateway. There are many solutions out there which can do this, including local DNS!
The point is the mirage of having an integrated solution that can be centrally manager from the Omada controller.

@aschmid I got that, but in my case I need DHCP including local DNS to be restorable (read: managed by SDN), because I have a house with hundreds of Wi-Fi Smart Devices and I am not going to reconfigure this. So the miracle of Omada quickly becomes a curse when the support is not competent enough to get this, as it is a problem of hundreds of other users.
Omada is like a Mercedes without turn signals. When I am meant to glue LED lamps to the doors, there is no point in buying a Mercedes.
And that's exactly what I did, ditched the Mercedes for an old van, but the good thing is, the van actually works and it is a third of the price.

@hammer86 And no ability to ssh in to the router? I can build OpenWrt, perhaps update dnsmasq?

I'll also add my vote to the countless others, I can't believe i have gone down the Omada rabbit whole and then find out we are missing local DNS...
This has to be a priority not sure what the developers at Omada are working on but it can't be any less important than a core feature on a gateway.
I thought a topic nearly 19months old would have a supplier solution but im shocked its still without an ETA.
Please try and response with a better answer than, Its a Future Development with not ETA, That would have been ok 19 months ago but now it really should be in a roadmap somewhere.
