Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20220114 Rel.76871

I can access the vpn via PPTP and I can ping the gateway on the router (192.168.0.1) but I cannot ping any other addresses in that subnet. A friend told me support had told him that V1 routers needed a route or access rule to let the vpn user access the subnet. Does anyone know what is needed and how to enter it?

Lan IP in ER605 - 192.168.0.1

VPN ip group - 192.168.10.240 ~ 192.168.10.247

Address given in user setup - local ip - 192.168.0.247

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

  @mlcport

No. You don't need to set up anything special to access the LAN. You need to first make sure that you are ping-ing an available IP instead of a non-existed IP.

As you mentioned that you can ping 192.168.0.1, which means that you can ping other IPs in this subnet.

Since the update of 1.2.0, you can set up the VPN pool into the same subnet as the LAN. But this does not matter because you can access LAN by default.

  @John1234

Putting my vpn ip group inside the local subnet worked!  Thanks
