Hi,

 

as the new products are getting in stock.... What would you choose?

 

 

The 660HD is a nice device, but there are two new models coming. The 670 and 650.

 

650 has a smaller footprint and 670 has VHT160 better WIFI in 5GHz but only 2 Streams within 2.4 GHz

 

But what worries me is should I go for a 660HD (first product in this category) or should I better invest in a 2nd generating (670 or 650).

 

Want to have a model which is kind of future proof.

 

What would you choose?

There is a comparison between them. It's up to your expectation. HD stands for high density. It is more suitable for shopping malls, schools, or theaters deployment. HD looks better in the specs. If you have a need for speed, you consider 670. If the speed is okay for you, you have more devices, you consider HD.

Don't have that many devices. Thought the HD does have other things, which made it a better device.

More thinking about going to 670 or even 650 (because smaller footprint > but maybe not that good transmit and receive power?

I have recently bought 2 EAP660HDs. I wanted an AP with WiFi 6 and a 2.5G port. The EAP650 doesn't seem to have a 2.5G port. I do not expect to benefit from the HD or 160Mhz features in the next 3 years so it could've been either the EAP660HD or EAP670. I can't see any EAP670s around, but EAP660HDs are readily available and already discounted.

  @KJK Thx for your feedback.

 

Within my region, the 670 are already discounted and 660HD prices are getting higher... Cannot understand why as the EAP670 is the newer (better?) product...?
