I was wondering if it is important to set your DNS for your devices (switches, EAP) to the same DNS as what the OC200 controller is set to. Or do I set the DNS to the same as what my gateway is? Just wanting the best setting possible.

@ingeborgdot For me it's not important. DNS only take effect when the device wants to go to a RUL. And since you have a Controller, I don't think your switches/EAP need to go to any URL directly. You can remote manage them via Controller.

 

Not switch/EAP DNS is not for your client devices, it's only for the switch/EAP itself.

my way to set DNS in each specific VLAN, so for example in my network dedicated to kids or guests devices i can use a specific DNS that doesn't allow certain websites and for each VLAN i decide the DNS
