Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 5.4.7

I've got two active VLAN's totallng about 40 to 50 devices at any given time.

One of those VLAN's is used specifically for any IoT device, and ever since the v5.3.2, I've observed certain devices are now identified as Wired, when they are Wifi.

These devices are specifically Shelly Door & Window 2 (all of them). I have more Shelly devices, and they are properly identified.

I can't understand what happened for this change, and this incorrect identification.

Is this a known issue? Can something be done about it ?

Omada equipment:

- 1x OC200 v1, with fw 1.18.3 Build 20220715 Rel.56221, running SDN v.5.4.7

- 1x TL-ER7206 v1.0 with fw 1.2.1 Build 20220512 Rel.77113

- 2x TL-SG2210MP v1.0 with fw 1.0.4 Build 20220707 Rel.55528

- 4x EAP620 HD(EU) v1.0 with fw 1.1.0 Build 20211028 Rel. 68287

- 1x EAP610(EU) v1.0 with 1.0.4 Build 20220325 Rel. 58214

Dear  @dominguess

May I know these Shelly Door & Window 2 devices are shown to be connected to which Omada product? The Router ER7206 or the switch TL-SG2210MP?

Are these Shelly Door & Window 2 devices still working like normal? Or actually has been disconnected from the network?

What will happen if you reboot the IoT device?

Thank you for your kindly feedback!

The issue isn't specific to IOT devices. I am also seeing the same behavior with a Dell Laptop. TLR605 V1.0 Router on V1.2.1 (official release) TL-SG2008P v1.0 Switch on V1.0.4 Omada Software controller on V5.5.6

OmadaLinux v5.13.10 R605 V1:1.3.0 - Build 20230511 R.51317 SG2008P V1:V1.0.8 Build 20230602 R.73473 SG2008P V3:V3.0.5 Build 20230602 R.73473 3 x EAP245 V3:V5.1.0-Build 20230104 R.79433

  @Hank21,

The overall topology is :

  • Omada Router
    • Switch #1
      • OC200
      • EAP #1
      • Switch #2
        • EAP #2
        • EAP #3
        • EAP #4
        • EAP #5

The Shelly devices are split between all EAP's.

The devices are connected, and even after a reboot the behavior remains. You can identify the devices as SHD*

@dominguess I've seen this too with different clients.  Just yesterday, my wife's iPhone was listed as wired to my main switch - even though it wasn't even in the house at the time. Here is my system.

Edit:  All devices are up-to-date with their firmware.

(1) TL-R605 v1.0 Router/Gateway (1) OC200 v1.0 Controller (1) TL-SG2210P v3.20 POE Switch (2) TL-SG2218 v1.0 POE Switch (3) EAP245 v3.0 Access Point (1) EAP225-Outdoor v1.0 Access Point

So this seems to be a generic bug.

For some reason, some devices are being identified as Wired when they are Wifi.
