Model: EAP110-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.0.2 Build 20210604 Rel. 50960(5553)

Just bought the EAP110-Outdoor, but as somebody else pointed out the range and speed are very disappointing. The Ethernet connection out of my cable measures around 140MBps, when I stand next to the EAP110 via wireless I get around 40MBps. When I connect to my regular router I clock also 140MBps.

We're very rural with not many obstractions (maybe a tree here or there) and the signal pretty much drops after 250ft.

Don't think there is any 2.4GHz interference. Again, we're the only house around

Is there something I'm missing? I did use 2 old Cat 5 Ethernet cables, but can that be it? They are Cat5.

Shall I try the EAP225?

Wireless Internet speed depends on two factors: 1. Wireless link speed; and 2. Ethernet speed of the AP.

1.

How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client

You may check the wireless link speed of your client devices. For example if the link speed is around 80Mbps, then Internet speed could be around 40-50Mbps.

2.

EAP110-Outdoor Ethernet port is 100Mbps only, that means in theory, the maximum Internet speed of EAP110-Outdoor is just 100Mbps.

Thank you for this.

I checked with my iPhone SE 2020, which can get up to 140Mbps from my router over WIFI. When I'm standing next to the EAP-110 I get around 40Mbps.

And again the distance the EAP provided was also very disappointing.

Are there other WIFI settings I should set on the EAP? Really didn't change anything.

Or look to another EAP?

Thx

You can try to change the wireless channel of the SSID.

1,6 or 11 are recommended.

However there are so many limitations on 2.4Ghz.

I have EAP225-Outdoor and EAP245 both of them have better speed performance on 5Ghz.
