Model: EAP615-Wall
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20220407 Rel. 58054

Hi Guys,

we have 2 EAP615-Wall(EU) and 2 EAP620 HD(EU) AP in a small office / flat.

The EAP620 HDs are working well, without any problems or failures. But the 2 EAP615-Wall devices are "doing" very interesting things...

From the log tonight (GYAP02 and GYAP04 are EAP615-Wall(EU) devices):

[Failed]GREE-AIRCOND01 failed to connected to GYAP02 with SSID "GYSMH_2G" on channel 48 because the Association times out.(1 time in a minute) Sep 30, 2022 05:21:22

So: "failed to connected to GYAP02 with SSID "GYSMH_2G" on channel 48" --> Yes because this SSID works only on 2G, channel can be only 11!

5G is unavailable on SSID "GYSMH_2G".

And the other problem:

[Failed]GYMOBILE01 failed to connected to GYAP04 with SSID "GYWIFI" on channel 44 because the Association times out.(2 times in a minute) Sep 30, 2022 06:49:59
[Failed]GYMOBILE01 failed to connected to GYAP04 with SSID "GYWIFI" on channel 44 because the Association times out.(4 times in a minute) Sep 30, 2022 06:47:59
[Failed]GYMOBILE01 failed to connected to GYAP04 with SSID "GYWIFI" on channel 44 because the Association times out.(4 times in a minute) Sep 30, 2022 06:45:29
[Failed]GYMOBILE01 failed to connected to GYAP04 with SSID "GYWIFI" on channel 44 because the Association times out.(2 times in a minute) Sep 30, 2022 06:43:59
[Failed]GYMOBILE01 failed to connected to GYAP04 with SSID "GYWIFI" on channel 44 because the Association times out.(6 times in a minute) Sep 30, 2022 06:42:29

The GYMOBILE01 device was connected to the EAP620 HD whole night, link quality: 90+ %. Why should this mobile roaming to EAP615-Wall?? And of course it could not so a lot of "Association times out" messages were generated.

I think this is a EAP615-Wall related problem, have never seen on the EAP620 HD.

Hope somebody could help to find a solution. Thank you!

It is recommended to check the wireless environment, which is usually related to the wireless environment, and to move the location of the EAP for testing

I'm experiencing the same thing with my EAP615, and I've tried moving it to different locations. Tons of "Association times out" messages for this unit when my three EAP670 units work just fine. It's also timing out on 5G channels (as well as 2.4G channels) on a SSID that only has 2.4G enabled. This seems really strange. Did you ever find a solution?

  @barnowan

I have the same problem that there are a lot of timing out messages for various devices. Solution: set threshold higher from -67 to -69 dB  (device lowest: -67dB)

I also have a device that is  only 2.4GHz (channel 13) which gets timeouts for channel 48 (5GHz).

This can't be because I have disabled the 5 GHz band for that SSID AND the device is not 5GHz.

I have the following devices and firmware levels

Whats the client's signal levels?

Yes I tried a lot of things (configuration parameters enabled / disabled, etc.) and finally I disabled the "RSSI threshold" settings on all of my WiFi devices (APs) also turned off OFDMA too.

Enabled fast roaming, AI roaming, force-disassociation, band steering set to "prefer 5 GHz / 6 GHz".

Beacon interval (on 2.4 and 5 GHz) is 100 ms, DTIM is 1, and airtime fairness is enabled.

You should play with the APs (if you have more of them) TX power (EIRP) parameter too, while max throughput is not always the solution!

I had a lot of problems with VoWiFi on my phone before the last update of EAP615-Wall but now with this new firmware (latest now is 1.1.3) a lot better. I think if VoWiFi traffic could be prioritized (or optimized) it would be perfect.

@KimcheeGUN

Clients signal levels are now very good. I think the optimized (latest) firmware of the EAP615-Wall helped a lot.
