Hi,

I recently purchased tp-link tp-link t1700g-28tq switch for my home setup as i need port truncating in my nas. Previously i have never used a managed switch so i tried to learn fundamentals from internet but still a newbie. My current network diagram is like below.

I had to use the zxyel unmanaged switch in between as it has 2.5g ports (My computer supports 2.5g max). System is working fine like this.My computer is setup for vlan 10 and virtual server 1 is vlan 10. I can access internet and virtual server 1. However my question is, i saw ppl setting up default gateway switch's ip while creating vlans for example in this example 192.168.10.1 but when i setup like that i cant access the internet. I am forced to use router's gateway. Is it normal or should i make some other changes?
