Clean install and restore of my config did the trick. I find it a bit drastic, but it works.
Have you tried to uninstall the controller totally, then re-install the newest version? V4.4.4 is kindly too old version. Not sure but there could be some conflict.
Also make sure you have 2GB free space in hard drive, and your firewall/antivirus allow the Controller software change the hard drive content.
