Hi,

 

I would like to ask why my EAP110 is not powering up using my poe switch

 

here are my devices

 

 

I am using Omada controller as well, this is powered via POE in my switch TL-SG2008P, however when i tried to plug my EAP110, it does not seem to get power because the EAP light does not turn on. I tried using all POE ports and also removed OC200 and use its poe port to power up EAP110 but still cant get power. Am I missing somethig? thanks

  @Hansturbo Yes this is correct operation.  The EAP110 uses 24V passive POE, this is an always on 24V sent over the cable.  The SG2008P uses 802.3 af/at POE, this is an IEEE standard of 48V POE that requires the client device to acknowledge and negotiate the need for POE before the switch will turn on the power.  There is no way to override the POE settings in the switch to force the power on.  To get power to the EAP110, use the included POE injector, and do not plug in any device that is not passive POE intended when the injector is plugged in or you could cause damage.

  @Hansturbo Yeah, any of the currently available EAPs will work on POE 802.3af/at, except the EAP110-outdoor and your current EAP110.

  @JoeSea Thanks man, i thought i was doing it wrong, are there eaps that does not need injector stuff?
