Hi community,

we are using an ER605v2 with two IPsec connections and installed an USB-Stick with 4G for failover. Normal WAN failover is working fine, but the IPsec connections are not coming up in 4G-mode. Is there a special config for this or is this a known problem?

Cheers!

Model: ER605 (TL-R605)

Hardware Version: V2

Firmware Version: 2.1.0

I have exactly the same problem but the other way round - firmware 2.1.0 which is currently BETA.

Running on 4G USB modem only - everything is working fine and as expected.

USB modem is the only WAN port configured.

When trying to setup IPSec VPN, I cannot create a profile for it because there's no WAN interface available.

Drop-down field to select a WAN interface is empty and greyed-out.

Means setting up IPSec VPN when using USB modem is not possible.

Same problem as previous post.

Hope this is being fixed by TP-Link soon!

  @AdminSBO

I'm not using 4G modem so I did not notice this issue before.

I think you should send this topic to "Request&Suggestion" block so we can vote for you

@Fae If some mod is reading this and can confirm this problem, please put this threat to request section and/or escalate it.

For me this is not an additional feature, it is a bug like Hoamboy wrote.

Cheers!

It is essentially for using the failover function.

Our IPSec VPNs needs also to get onlinem again, while first WAN connection is interrupted. So if the backup WAN connection comes up, the vpn tunnels should be come up again too. Maybe by dead peer connection interval. At the moment, you have to decide, on which WAN connection the VPN tunnel is bound. +1

  @Fae and @Hank21

Is there any news on this please?

Just upgraded my ER605 V2 to latest firmware 2.1.2 Build 20230210 but still no luck.

USB Modem connection is up, internet access is working perfectly fine.

But there's no USB WAN connection selectable as for IPSec VPN!
