Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 Build 20230322 Rel.70951

Despite Notifications in Omada being checked for Event and Alert under Device Connected and Device Disconnected, Omada never shows any Disconnected status!  Only get CONNECTED status events.  Omada LOG does not show any Device Disconnected events or alerts.

In the system, StarLink Internet, OC200, and Gateway ER7206 v1.0 as well as 3 AP's (EAP245, EAP225-Outdoor) are backed up by a 1 hour UPS.  Other AP's on the property are not.  For any extended power failure, the Omada GUI shows wired AP's disconnected, and mesh devices show heartbeat missing correctly.  However, the event LOG does not contain any hint of these devices missing, disconnected, or down.

Without any UPS, the entire system is reported by Omada as OFFLINE.    I guess this is the common and clean way of handling it, and this works.    In a larger implementation, power outages can be more localized, or a UPS can keep some of it (including gateway and internet) up.  In this latter case, Omada node down notifications are missing or not working.

Thank you,

RF Dude

Hello @RF_Dude,

May I know the firmware version of your controller?

We have tested it in the local lab but have no similar issues.

Are you sure this issue starts to happen from the beginning of you deploy these devices in the network?

Can you reproduce the issue stably?

  @Hank21 Firmware are up to date per Omada distribution.  OCC200 2.0  5.7.6  2.7.7 Build 20221206 Rel.58608.

The disconnects DO get logged, just happens after a 5 minute delay.  A disconnect that is shorter than 5 minutes will not be logged, but the "connect" will be logged.  I'm thinking an event log should show both disconnect and reconnect.  An alert can be delayed to avoid nuisance notifications.  The timing seems to be:  Omada GUI shows near real time results.  Heartbeat missed for mesh.  At 5 minutes, the device is logged as "disconnected".  Push notifications are more difficult to evaluate.  Will test some more this weekend.
