Model: EAP650-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.2

Moin,

i ran in a bit of an issue with my APs. The tend to be very occupied mostly with the "TX Frames". I did a bit of research and reduced the channel width to 20 MHz, Moved 2 of 3 EAPs (which are EAP265 v1.0 Firmware 5.0.6) to channel 10 & 13 and reduced TX Power to the lowest possible. It solved their occupation but no matter what i do, the EAP 650 Outdoor stays very busy (during my test runs i recognized: its always one EAP thats ridiculously busy - normaly its the EAP 650 outdoor)

The fun part is: there are only three clients linked to it: 2 inverter (Goodwe 10k ET) and one energy meter (My-PV WiFi Meter)

And i got no neighbours, there is nothing for interference except my network.

My built:

ER4811, TL-SG3452, OC300, 3 EAPS: 2xEAP265, 1xEAP650

still waiting for Installation: new 1xEAP650 outdoor, recycle EAP110 outdoor (first i need to solve that traffic issue)

planned 2023: TL-SG3452XP (POE will be in heavy use)

Firmware is up to date.

Im running out of ideas. Help?

@Criggn Is your EAP650-outdoor connected via wired or meshed?

@Criggn were you ever able to resolve this?

I am seeing similar behavior after replacing two EAP225-outdoor units with two EAP650-outdoor units in the exact same locations. In addition to these two units I also have a EAP660 HD, And I have confirmed that all are operating on different channels (1, 6, and 11.) All units are wired directly to a PoE switch.

These are all installed in a location well away from other WiFi networks (nearest other AP is a residential house about 0.5 miles away) and I had never seen high Rx frame utilization before the switch, but now both EAP650-outdoors are consitistently showing > 50% utilization in the 2.4GHz band despite there being little to no actaul traffic on them.

@jrhelbert it solved itself a bit: i set it up with channels 1, 8 and 12. Set the channel with to 20 Mhz and the Power to its lowest setting (thats 6 i believe). And we moved all Apple Gear to 5G where it was possible.

Maybe its the settings or the last few updates - cant tell.
