Hello,

I am building a cabinet that will include a TL-SG2016P.

For the sake of simplicity, I would like to power the switch via an external power supply. I will have 48VDC available, that I will use to power other PoE equipment; can I use 48 VDC to power the TL-SG2016P?

I am asking because the original supply is rated for 53.5 V, but I know that PoE equipment usually is reasonably flexible.

Thanks,

V

Hi, it doesn't suggest using 48VDC supply, it seems can not provide enough power to the switch, better to use the original adapter.

Just striving to develop myself while helping others.

  @wilcomir90

if it is rated as 53.5VDC, and you are using an adapter supplying(output) 48VDC, your switch is undervolted.

possible result: random reboot when performing heavy workload or reboot of the poe function during high power demand.

use at your discretion. make sure the output is right or you face a potential fry damage to the switch.
