Hi, did you bind your tplink ID on this page?

Try to disable Cloud Access and re-enable it to test.

Did you use gmail.com to set up the mail server? Use a Gmail email address to have a try, it helps me fix this issue before.

Check the document out.

  @Virgo hi thanks for responding.

I tried the disable / enable but no use. Cloud led is not blinking, binding with correct email / password combo just simply gives a time out

I have a theory - does the main admin user being set up after a factory reset need to enable CLOUD access, so that that right is given to that user?

I have NOT enabled that, and so the user (me / main admin) does not have the right. Also, when I create a new user now, I can not give that right to the new user.

I just don't want to go through the set up again...

Anyways, not sure what the issue is.

Gmail - no I don't use gmail, I have my own domain on a provider and I have about 50 email addresses working on it with devices using SMTP with no issues on specific ports.

Why do I need to use gmail? This hardware is meant to be for small business.

Couldn't agree any more... Just login the ER7212 via the main administrator and enable the cloud access, no need to set up again.
