I recently had a near-field lightning hit.  It appears that one of the exterior SPD-protected Ethernet lines into my SG3424 allowed a voltage spike to enter the switch.  The third set of ports 17-24 are unresponsive to any external connections.  I haven't opened the switch but it appears that may be a separate module from ports 1-8 or 9-16.  Is it possible to purchase/acquire a replacement module or is it toast and I have to spend big bucks to replace the whole switch?

  @LennyG Thanks for the suggestion.  No, I hadn't done that yet because living in Asia they're generally not working when I'm awake.  But I do see they're available 0600-1800 so I'll have to try them early in my morning.

  @Tedd404 I tried that and tried the "please click talk to agent to get the Human Service."  I never got a human agent response though, even though it was during business hours.  I guess I'm screwed and will just have to buy another.  At $300 they're not expensive, but I'll have to wait until September when I'm back in the US because I really don't want to pay the $200 additional import tax to ship it into the Philippines.

during the pst time, they have their service open. 

try again or ring them. you should get thru. 

about your location, are you outside the States? if so, you are very likely to pay for the export tax and global shipping fee. 

according to the USA rma policy, it only ships to the domestic states.
