Model: OC300
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: OC300(UN)_v1_1.18.2_20230704

I want to downgrade my controller to a previous reliable version. I understand that right now everything is being done to correct the July 2023 version. But when downgrading I will have to apply all settings manually. As a temporarily measure might be it is possible to either rename the previous version or change its properties to fool the controller so that it would accept this old firmware as upgrade and not downgrade? I understand that it will be only a workaround, but it might ease the problems with removed firmware.

sad that you haven't taken a backup, then you have two choices,

1. build the controller again from scratch,

2. wait for an upgrade with a fix.

just as a tip. always take a backup after you have made changes or before an upgrade. the reason you can't use the new backup on old firmware is that the new controller has a lot of new features that the old one doesn't have.

you can downgrade and then run a restore of the backup you made before you upgraded and everything is back where you were

That would be OK, but unfortunately I do not have a backup ofthe  previous firmware. I can make a backup of a present firmware but I am afraid it will not be possible to apply it to downgraded firmware.

I do not understand why when making an upgrade all the settings are preserved, but when you have to downgrade - not. That was why I asked of the possibility to downgrade preserving the settings.
