For me, the AP range is up to 10m when the obstacle is one wall. Is this correct? The old Linksys WAG200 has a range 2x greater.

Yes, the wall plate EAP products' recommend WiFi coverage radius is 10m. And the normal ceiling mount EAP products' recommend WiFi coverage radius is 15m. This info is just for your reference.
