I have 4 EAP225 V5 AP's, and one EAP225 V4 (shipped to me last - no idea why amazon would send me old hardware after sending me V5 previously!?).

 

Anyway, updated to EAP225(CA)_V5_1.1.3  firmware, updated the AP's and updated V4 unit as well. Couple days later (today) I go in and out of curiosity check CONFIG settings and what do I discover to my surprise, all of the AP's are at 24dbm "custom" power after I had each one setup for custom power between 10-15dbm since I don't want to fry people. This IS NOT COOL man.

 

Why would a firmware update max out transmit power??

The support engineer has located the issue, and it will be optimised in subsequent official versions of the controller.

The issue about the Custom Tx power has been reported to the engineer for further investigation. I'll try to provide an update when there's progress.
