I know there is an option somewhere to hide devices you don't want to adopt, but for the life of me I cannot locate the setting.

 For those missing the "unknown devices" tab   Here you go 

 

-Open controller page, make sure you are on global view.   Enter settings--->controller settings-->show pending devices (ON)--->save
