Model: EAP115
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

We have several ceiling mounted EAP115 running over POE  that I would like to upgrade to something more powerful and up to date such as EAP245.    I am non-technical but know how to use a screwdriver.    If I remove a EAP115 and replace it with a EAP245 will it simply work (I.e plug and play) or do I need someone with IT expertise to configure it, name it etc...   Sorry for such a basic question.  I did notice the EAP245 have a higher power consumption so also wondered if that might be a problem.   Thank you.

The EAP115 and EAP245 are both plug and play devices. They can work as soon as they are connected to the Internet source. However, the network that broadcasts by default is an open network, for security reasons, we will normally edit the SSID or set the Wi-Fi password for the network. If you remove the EAP115 but connect the EAP245 to the network, you will need to configure the EAP245. There are actually three methods to edit it.
